This page lists the water meters we currently describe, and the class and install language already on those product pages. It does not add flow rates, accuracy percentages, or prices. Those are not on the product records. Confirm them on the manufacturer datasheet and the utility list.

The water meters hub is the commercial page. This guide is the size and class map.

Sizes on this site

The catalogue pages are 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 32mm. There is no other nominal size in the meter set.

Nominal sizeBrass multi-jet, Class B languagePolymer volumetric, Class C languageBrass volumetric, Class C language

20mmLXSG/FX20LXHP20LXHB20

32mmLXSG/FX32Not listedNot listed

A 25mm polymer body is not a SKU on this site. Family notes on the volumetric pages mention a spring-loaded non-return valve on 20mm and 25mm. The 25mm volumetric page we publish is the brass LXHB25.

Class B and Class C, as the pages use those words

On this site the words are tied to the pattern, not to a table of error bands:

  • Brass multi-jet pages cite SANS 1529-1:2019 Class B (SA 1566) as the family literature. SKUs LXSG/FX15, FX20, FX25, and FX32.
  • Volumetric piston pages, polymer and brass, cite SANS 1529-1:2019 Class C (SA 1508). Polymer SKUs are LXHP15 and LXHP20. Brass SKUs are LXHB15, LXHB20, and LXHB25.

We do not print the numerical accuracy limits for Class B or Class C here. They are not in the product records. Changing the class named on a tender changes the meter. The hub already says to re-issue the bill of materials rather than swap class silently. We also do not guarantee utility acceptance. Inspectors use their list.

Two patterns, two install notes

A multi-jet measures with a rotor driven by several jets. The brass pages say horizontal installation. They describe a dry dial reading to 0.0002 m³, a removable strainer, DZR brass, ISO metric threads, and 1600 kPa working pressure. Cold is listed at ≤ 50°C and a hot variant at ≤ 90°C. The titles say reed switch. The feature lists say pulse prepared, with different settings available. Confirm what is fitted.

A volumetric piston meter is the other pattern. Polymer and brass pages say accuracy is not affected by installation angle. They describe a liquid-filled 8-digit counter with a minimum reading of 0.00002 m³, working temperature between 2°C and 40°C, working pressure 1600 kPa, an internal non-return valve and strainer, a grooved piston, and no external calibration facility. Polymer bodies are glass-reinforced UV-stabilised polymer. The notes cite a body test up to 4800 kPa. That figure is not the working pressure. Brass volumetric bodies are DZR brass.

The 20mm volumetric pages (LXHP20 and LXHB20) are the ones that mention a bowed strainer with increased mesh area. The 15mm volumetric pages say that note does not apply to them. The 25mm brass volumetric page does not claim the bowed strainer. It does carry the spring-loaded non-return note that the family list attaches to 20mm and 25mm.

What to send

From the hub, before we quote:

  • Nominal size, and whether the schedule is bulk or consumer
  • The pattern and class the tender names (multi-jet Class B language, or volumetric Class C language)
  • Pulse or reed requirement, and the pulse value if a logger is already specified
  • Straight-length limits, and whether the pit is new or a retrofit
  • Thread or flange mates
