Who we are

What we collect

• Contact and quote forms: name, company, email, phone, delivery address, message or notes, and product line items you add to a quote request.
• Website analytics: when enabled, Google Analytics 4 collects usage data such as pages visited, device type, and approximate location. This may involve cookies or similar technologies set by Google.
• Technical data: server and security logs from our hosting provider (Netlify) may include IP address, browser type, and request timestamps.

Why we use it

• Respond to trade enquiries, prepare quotations, and fulfil wholesale orders.
• Improve website performance, content, and user experience.
• Protect the site against abuse and maintain security.
• Meet legal or regulatory obligations where applicable.

Lawful basis (POPIA)

We process personal information to take steps at your request before entering a contract (quote and contact enquiries), for our legitimate interests in operating and improving a B2B wholesale business, and where required to comply with law. We do not sell personal information.

Third parties

Form submissions are processed by Netlify Forms on our behalf. Analytics data is processed by Google when GA4 is active. Embedded maps on the contact page are served by Google. These providers may process data outside South Africa under their own terms and safeguards.

Retention

Enquiry and quote records are kept for as long as needed to respond, quote, trade, and resolve disputes — typically up to seven years for commercial correspondence unless a shorter period is required by law. Analytics data retention follows Google Analytics settings.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses essential cookies for basic operation. When Google Analytics is enabled, analytics cookies may be set to measure traffic and usage. You can limit tracking via your browser settings, browser extensions, or Google’s opt-out tools. We do not use analytics data to identify you personally unless you also submit a form.

Information officer (POPIA section 18)

HDPE Plumbing & Trading is the responsible party under POPIA. Until a named information officer is published here, direct POPIA enquiries to wesley@hdpeplumbingtrade.co.za or +27100130346, 4 Rivett Carnett Street, Alrode South, Alberton, Gauteng.

Client confirmation required: publish the named information officer and deputy (if any), plus CIPC registration details, once the owner confirms POPIA registration with the Information Regulator.

Notice when we collect (POPIA section 18)

When you submit a contact or quote form, we collect the details you enter so we can respond, prepare quotations, and trade with your business. Supply is voluntary, but if you do not provide name and contact details we cannot process your enquiry or order. We do not use form data for unsolicited direct marketing; we may contact you about quotes, orders, and account matters related to your request.

Recipients of personal information include our branch staff, Netlify (form processing), and Google (analytics and maps when enabled). Data may be processed outside South Africa under those providers’ safeguards, as described above.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to certain processing, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
